Depending on which website or platform you have used to make your booking, city taxes may not have been included in the reservation total. In any case, these are applied to every reservation and not just as extra fees to certain cases. Worry not!
Here's a bit more about what can be added to your booking:
Key Deposit:
Ready for a heads-up about key deposits?
When you check-in, you might be asked to drop a 1€ key card deposit. No biggie – you can pay it with cash or card. And it's fully refundable when you check out!
Now, if you happen to misplace your key card, don't sweat it. We'll make you a new one one, but sorry, the initial deposit won't find its way back to you!
City and Tourism Taxes:
Okay, let's talk taxes.
City and/or tourist taxes will be added onto all reservations. These taxes go straight to the city government to fund various public services and projects.
In Amsterdam, you're looking at 12.5% of your booking value.
These tax rates get a yearly update according to the country's laws, with the latest changes kicking in on January 1st, 2024.
If you booked through our website or on st-christophers.co.uk, you'll see these taxes broken down in your booking summary once you pick your room.
If you booked via a third-party site (OTA), they might've already bundled these taxes into your total price. For the full details, check out your booking confirmation email.
